CAPA-MOTIC BEST ABSTRACT AWARD 2015

On behalf of the Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA), we are delighted to announce the 2015 CAPA-Motic Best Abstract Award for practicing pathologists and pathologists-in-training in China.
CAPA’s major missions are to promote excellence in practice, education and research in pathology, as well as advocacy on behalf of Chinese pathologists. The objectives of this newly established Best Abstract Award are to encourage and reward outstanding research contributions by pathologists in China, and to foster the communication and collaboration among pathologists practicing in China and those in the CAPA community. Eligibility:
First-authored abstract(s) by a practicing pathologist or pathologist-in-training in China are qualified to be considered. Abstracts should be new and have not been presented in any previous meetings. All abstracts have to be submitted in English using the abstract format for USCAP Annual Meeting, which include the title, authors, institution, background, design, results and conclusions. The body of the abstract (background, design, results and conclusions) should not exceed 350 words. Submission or acceptance for presentation at the USCAP Annual Meeting is not required.
One individual can submit more than one abstracts, but no more than one award will be given to the same person.
One of the authors of the abstract must be present at CAPA Annual Meeting to receive the award. Otherwise the abstract will be automatically disqualified for the award.

Submit your abstract(s) to Dr. Huamin Wang by email at hmwang@mdanderson.org, the Chair of the Selection Committee for CAPA-Motic Best Abstract Award. The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, January 9, 2015.
Selection:
Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Selection Committee members who are blinded to the names of authors and institution. Each abstract will be scored independently by five reviewers. Abstracts with the highest average scores/ranks will be selected as the winners. We will notify the potential winners before the end of January 2015. One of the authors of the abstract must present at CAPA Annual Meeting to receive the award. Otherwise the abstract will be automatically disqualified for the award at the time of meeting.
Recognition:
The awards will be presented to the winners on March 21, 2015 at the companion CAPA Annual Meeting during the upcoming 2015 USCAP Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, March 21-27, 2015. Each winner will receive a certificate with his/her name, a cash award, and recognition on the CAPA website. Winners must be present at the CAPA Annual Meeting in person to receive the award.
